An explosion occurred at a food processing facility, causing severe damage to a 90,000 square feet addition. Jeffrey M. Young & Company served as the structural consultant on a team comprised of consultants from across the country. We established safe-entry pathways and escorted other parties into the damaged addition, performed a damage survey to document the nature and extent of the structural damages, and assessed the structural condition of the remainder of the facility.
We successfully proved that portions of the addition were structurally sound and other portions could be repaired cost effectively. Our findings were used to settle the insurance claim and resulted in a large monetary savings to the insurers.
