A catastrophic EF-5 rated tornado struck Joplin, Missouri, killing 161 people and causing $2.8 billion in damages.  St. John's Regional Medical Center took a direct hit from the tornado and was severely damaged.  Jeffrey M. Young & Company performed a structural damage survey and condition assessment of the approximately 800,000 square feet of buildings comprising the medical center to determine the nature and extent of their structural damages.  Our findings were presented in a report that was used to help settle the insurance claim.
